Multiple road accidents reported across Island

A 37-year-old man was injured in a road accident at the junction of Middle Road and Watlington Road West, in Devonshire.

It appears that a car was travelling east on Middle Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided as the car attempted to make a right turn.

The rider of the cycle sustained a fractured pelvis and abrasions, however the driver of the car, a 49-year-old woman, was not injured.

The rider was treated and discharged from King Edwards VII Memorial Hospital after the accident on Wednesday. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the car received moderate damage.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision or anyone with any information to contact PC Seymour Foote at 295-0011.

• A motorcycle rider carrying a passenger collided with two buses but rode off apparently uninjured after the crash.

The motorbike was trying to overtake a bus on Harrington Sound Road, Hamilton Parish, on Wednesday evening. A second bus was coming in the opposite direction and the bike collided with both vehicles.

The rider and his passengers fell off, but got up, picked up the bike and rode off. Both buses received minor damage but neither drivers or passengers were injured.

It is unknown whether the two men on the cycle were injured. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Dennis Maybury at 295-0011.

• A pedestrian was injured when he collided with a van on North Shore Road in Smith's Parish.

The van was on North Shore Road on Wednesday when the male pedestrian tried to cross the street by the Brightside Guest Apartments and collided with the vehicle.

The pedestrian complained of pain to his legs and right shoulder and was taken King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment but was discharged the same day.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old Hamilton Parish woman, was not injured and her vehicle was not damaged.
