Miss Simone Alimanestianu has issued a writ against the St. George's Club after being dismissed last May.

It is understood Miss Alimanestianu was dismissed on May 1 and had worked as a salesperson since January 10. Before then she had worked as a salesperson for Midlan International which used to market the apartments.

Club president Mr. Alistair Woolf said: "The St George's Club has been cleaning house in order to build a management team for the future.'' Miss Alimanestianu was off the Island and was not available for comment.

BIG CHANCE FOR DRESS DESIGNERS CPN Big chance for dress designers Bermudian designers will have a chance to receive international exposure if a dress they have designed is chosen to be worn in the Miss World Contest next month.

Instead of a national custom the pageant has decided to have the Most Beautiful Evening Gown contest and Miss Bermuda Islands pageant organiser Terry Smith is inviting local designers to submit sketched designs for that category.

The winning sketch will be made by the designer and worn by Miss Bermuda Islands Renita Minors at the Miss World Contest.

Mr. Smith said: "The winning design will have to be made at the designers expense and they will get the gown back after the pageant. However, this gives the designer a chance to get phenomenal publicity, and their name will be mentioned when Renita comes out on stage during that segment.'' He added that the Miss Bermuda Islands committee will decide on the winning design.

Interested designers can contact Mr. Smith at 234-3409 before October 20 and sketches should also show the dress's colour.
