Crash victim airlifted to hospital

A 42-year-old man fighting for his life after he sustained serious head injuries in a road traffic accident has been airlifted to a Canadian hospital.

Canadian national Donald Leger was injured while riding his livery cycle along Sonesta Bay Road, Southampton, on Sunday morning. The TCC Dry Wall worker had been listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Canada on Tuesday.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a group of men riding in the vicinity of South Shore Road near Henry VIII Restaurant or Sonesta Bay Road at about 1.50 a.m. on Sunday.
