Changes are afoot at the Bermuda Broadcasting Company (BBC) with several job positions being reshuffled in the areas of radio and television.

According to a press release from chief executive officer Rick Richardson, the familiar face of Darlene Ming will no longer be seen on the nightly news.

Instead she will be taking over the post of Programme Director/Manager at month's end.

The veteran news anchor will be replaced in her post as News Director by veteran newsman Jim McKey.

Mr. Richardson stressed the changes are partly as a result of the current changes in a shaky economic climate,

"Television in particular is facing some very challenging times," Mr. Richardson said. "Ms Ming will now work closely with with marketing and sales manager, Honey Adams and myself to chart a new course for our stations."

As for who will be filling the shoes of Ms Ming in reading the nightly news, Mr. Richardson revealed that it will be the male duo of Gary Moreno and Mike Sharpe picking up the duties.

And Mr. Richardson also noted the new additions of Coggie Gibbons, Dianne Brewer and Tao Dill to various areas of the BBC news team.
