A teenager this morning admitted robbing a grocery store with an imitation firearm in May.OJ Campbell, 17, from Pembroke, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court to charges of robbery and using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence on May 28.However he denied a charge of taking a motorcycle without consent on the same day.All of the offences were linked to an incident at the Rubis gas station on St John’s Road, Pembroke.Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney accepted the pleas and ordered the final charge to “lie on file”, indicating that the Crown would not pursue the charge at this time.Marc Daniels, counsel for Campbell, urged the court to order a social inquiry report on his client given his young age.Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons ordered the report and adjourned the matter until November for sentencing.She remanded Campbell into custody until then.Campbell’s co-accused, 16-year-old Samuel Taylor Jr, also appeared in the Supreme Court but did not enter a plea.Mr Taylor, who is also in custody, is expected to return to the Supreme Court in two weeks.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
