Let?s just start winning again
Before the game, everyone was pretty upbeat and excitable, the way you?d expect after winning eight games.
We were full of confidence and were looking forward to getting into the game. But they played the way you expect a team to when they are up against the side at the top of the league.
When you have won a few games, everyone wants to beat you. That?s how it is and I sensed that in the last game. They run harder, they tackle harder they just want to be the team to end your streak.
We weren?t playing well although we did have some chances in the first half. There were probably maybe four of five guys who just weren?t up to the standard they had been in the previous games and it showed.
We weren?t as clever as we could have been with quick free kicks and throws and as the game wore on, the longer it stayed at 0-0, the more Doncaster became favourites to win.
I think we could probably have still got the win but there were too many of us not performing and they stepped things up with two late goals.
We were down after the game but the gaffer tried not to let us be too disappointed.
He reminded us that we hadn?t played well but also that we had been on a winning streak and we shouldn?t beat ourselves up too much about the loss.
He stressed how important it was that we got ourselves back together again as soon as possible and got back into good habits.
We?ve got an LDV Vans match tonight and he is making a few changes to the side, including giving me a rest.
I don?t mind missing out ? although I do like the competition, I won it with Rotherham a few years ago when it was the Auto Windscreens ? I knew I wouldn?t be playing every game this season.
It?s important that we get back to winning ways as on as possible. It doesn?t matter whether we get a 6-0 or a 1-0, it is all about avoiding getting into a rut and ruining all the good work we have done so far this year.
I wish the boys luck for tonight and hope they get the result.
