A Smith?s Parish man was fined $500 for aiming racial slurs at a Policeman. Barry Locke, ?caused alarm? when he told Police: ?You black sweaty-headed b*****s go home to your country. Whichever of the islands you come from.?

Locke was banned from driving all motor vehicles for one year and was fined $1,000 for impaired driving and an additional $500 for saying: ?You b******s leave me alone. Go deal with the f***ing real criminals.?

He was fined another $250 for failing to keep his bike stationary on February 27, at 7.50 p.m. when was spotted on Par-la-Ville Road, travelling south on a bike. Police saw him stop, then fall down. After falling into another wall, Locke was ?wobbling a bit? and was stopped by Police, who noticed his alcohol and his speech was slurred.

Locke then drove off onto Church Street and was stopped again, but again rode off. When he stopped for the third time, Police gripped hold of the bike?s basket, and he was arrested.

Locke recorded 151 millilitres of alcohol to 100 milligrams of blood at the Hamilton Police Station. In court, he told Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves that he wished to apologise and didn?t remember saying those things.

?The reason for those bad words was that my anger was provoked by the belligerent Police constable,? Locke said, adding that he had had three or four wines on an empty stomach at an ?impromptu celebration? of the success of his company.

A repeated housebreaker was jailed for several months after pleading guilty in Magistrates? Court yesterday.

Frederick Gary Spence, 45, of no fixed abode received nine months with time in custody taken into consideration for breaking into the Devonshire residence of Carolyn Castroverde.

The court learned that the home owner left her house the morning of December 18 and when she arrived back home at 4 p.m. she found someone had drank a bottle of Gatorade and eaten a can of Pringles potato chips, marshmallows, and Rice Krispy treats and left the remains scattered about.

The bathroom window was also shattered and the sliding glass door was left open. When Police took prints from the scene they matched the accused. In court yesterday, Spence said: ?I?m sorry for what I have done.?

Spence received 12 months of jail time after going on a similar eating spree in 2002 where he also stole a TV and CD player. Magistrate William Francis took the man?s guilty plea into consideration before sentencing the man.

A magistrate told a repeated probation violator he would not want to ?mess with? him and remanded him in custody for at least a week.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told 19-year-old Jason Williams he was ?one person you don?t mess with? before adding: ?You do not appreciate your freedom. If you don?t comply, I?ll lock you up one time, you understand that??

Williams appeared before Mr. Greaves for repeatedly failing to comply with his probation conditions. Williams failed to give information or samples to appropriate authorities on February 9, 18 and 23 and had been employed but ?failed to report?. He also refused health treatment and drug samples last month.

In Court, a Probation Officer wanted Williams to be given a psychiatric assessment. Williams was remanded into custody. When Williams apologised to Mr. Greaves for wasting his time, the magistrate replied: ?Waste my time? You are wasting your time.?

The Police Vehicle Crime Unit is investigating the disappearance of a blue hatchback Daewoo Matiz.

It was last seen where it was parked on Middle Road, Devonshire. The car was taken between Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 2 a.m. Anyone with information about the vehicle should call the Hamilton Police Station at 295-0011.

Having ?herb? near a Government park earned a Pembroke man a $1,500 fine on Thursday in Magistrates Court.

William Steede, 45, was arrested on February 13 when Police smelled burning cannabis from the car. His Nissan Sunny was parked near Admiralty Park, Pembroke, an Increased Penalty Zone (IPZ).

Steed allowed officers to search his car, where they found a black plastic bag containing a ?twist? of 0.94 grams of the cannabis. He then apologised to the Police, saying: ?Sorry, it?s only a little herb. It?s for me.?

Steed was fined $500 for possession and an additional $1,000, for breaking the law in an IPZ.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told him he had until two weeks to pay, or spend 90 days in jail.
