Woman slashed in bar brawl
A woman was hit on the head with a bottle and later stabbed after an altercation with another woman outside the Young Men?s Social Club in Angle Street on Monday evening.
The 50-year-old victim sustained cuts to her neck, left thigh and left forearm in the stabbing attack and is now recovering at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where her condition is described as stable.
Police investigators believe the incident began at 7.40 p.m. when the victim and a 52-year-old Pembroke woman became involved in an argument outside the club. The victim was struck on the head with a bottle. Another woman who tried to intervene to break up the argument was also struck with the bottle.
?The women were eventually separated by individuals at the scene and the suspect led away from the area, however, sometime later the suspect returned to the scene and assaulted the victim again, this time with a bladed article,? said Bermuda Police Service in a statement.
A suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. Inquiries are continuing.
