A student is in a serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after suffering head and facial injuries in a bike crash yesterday afternoon. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A Police spokesman said the 16-year-old, a student at the Bermuda High School for Girls, was reported to have been riding a black auxiliary cycle travelling north on Cedar Avenue, when she collided with a jeep, which was travelling east on Dundonald Street, Pembroke.

Eye-witnes Devon Allen said the teen, who is not being named, suffered serious facial injuries.

"She seemed to have several teeth missing ? it was a bloody mess ? there was blood everywhere," said Ms Allen.
