Family gives stranger new chance at life
John Perry is proof that life really does go on after death.
The 57-year-old grandfather from Boston has been given renewed life after receiving the donated heart of teenage student Darren Minors, who died at the age of 18 in a bike accident.
Mr. Perry travelled to Bermuda with his wife Maureen last month to see for themselves where Darren had lived and to spend time with his family.
It was an experience they said they would never forget - and one of great emotion.
They had met Darren's mother, Carolann Tacklyn, in an emotional gathering in America at the end of last year, but wished to spend more quality time with her.
Their four-day stay in March brought comfort to both Darren's family and Mr. and Mrs. Perry, and they each believe they will always stay friends.
While in Bermuda, Mr. Perry visited Darren's grave, met with his extended family and saw where he had worked.
