A 32-year-old man who allegedly robbed a tourist by pulling her off her bike was remanded in custody yesterday morning when he appeared in Magistrates' Court.

Dean Leslie Eve, of Cedar Park Road, Devonshire, was charged with three indictable charges, but was not required to enter a plea, as the matter will be heard in Supreme Court.

Prosecutor Juan Wolffe charged Eve with robbery, fraudulently using a bike, and exposing a child to moral danger.

The court heard that last Sunday, Eve allegedly robbed Los Angeles lawyer Julie Suzanne Gabler at Albuoys Point in Hamilton, during her holiday on the Island.

He is alleged to have used violence to steal her Kenneth Cole purse, US passport, Coach wallet, $120 in cash, credit cards and makeup, worth a total of $266.

It was also alleged that he fraudulently used a black Suzuki motorcycle with licence plate number X184.

And the court heard that while robbing the woman, Eve had a 12-year-old child on the back of the bike, exposing him to moral danger.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves remanded Eve in custody for mention on April 16.
