Attempted murder inquiry

A man wanted by Police in connection with a targeted assault on a motorcyclist after allegedly using his car as a battering ram was still at large last night - with the 37-year old victim escaping from the crash unscathed.

And while a Police statement released yesterday evening labelled the incident an assault, Police Commissioner Jonathan Smith said at a Press conference yesterday Police investigators were treating it as an attempted murder investigation.

At 6.45 p.m on Monday, Police were called to the area on Palmetto Road in Pembroke near the junction with Railway Terrace. A 24-year old Pembroke man driving a silver Hyundai reportedly ran into a 37-year old Hamilton man on a black Suzuki motorcycle - before getting out of his car and fleeing.

A white Nissan was also involved in the collision according to Police, adding that the man on the bike was not seriously injured and refused the offer of medical attention.
