Unusual accident at Kindley Field

There was another accident on the Island?s roads this weekend, though this time it does not appear to be the driver?s fault.

Witnesses said a young man?s bike ?split in half? while he was riding his motorcycle on Kindley Field Road.

A number of people were picnicking in the area and saw the startling event happen.

One witness said the young man was most definitely not at fault, stressing that he was not speeding.

The young man was conscious but appeared to have quite a bit of road rash when he was lifted into an ambulance.

Police said his injuries were not life threatening.

They are investigating the accident.

Snatch theft

A tall, brown skinned man ripped a gold chain from another man while they waited at traffic lights at the junction of Dondonald Street and Court Street early Sunday morning.

The victim called Police who arrived on the scene at 2:30 a.m.

He told Police the thief has a scar the left side of his face.

The victim was not injured. Police are investigating the matter.
