Inquests seem set to be held on victims of two unsolved murders -- Irving Dunlop and Brian Earl Sherlock.

Police yesterday said files on both cases had been prepared for the coroner.

Dunlop, 49, was found dead in a church alley in Hamilton on December 21 1993.

And 39-year-old Sherlock was discovered in a pool of blood in a Hamilton parking lot on May 20 1994. Both victims were golf caddies.

"Investigations into the cases are still ongoing,'' said Police spokeswoman Insp. Roseanda Jones yesterday.

In September 1994, then Police Commissioner Mr. Lennett (Lennie) Edwards announced a $10,000 reward in a bid to solve the crimes.

"I am offering a $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for causing the death of any or all of the following persons,'' he said.

Although the reward initially pulled in a fair amount of information, Police have said the flow understandably dried up.

The reward also related to the murder of construction worker Reginald Chesterfield Wilson, 44, found floating in North Shore on February 22 1994.

In September this year, 23-year-old Damion Wayne Smith, of North Shore Road, Pembroke, was charged in Magistrates' Court with murdering Wilson between February 14 and 22 last year.

A week earlier, Shawn C.H. Smith and Jamal T. Smith were convicted of manslaughter in connection with Wilson's death.

Shawn Smith received a seven-and-a-half-year sentence while Jamal Smith was imprisoned for two years.
