That was the prevalent sentiment among college students at a Horseshoe Bay beach party.

But the students, quickly added, that they were enjoying every minute of their visit.

Besides the actual sporting events, which include lacrosse, golf, tennis, rugby, track, and field hockey, the Tourism Department has organised beach parties and fun cruises as extras to keep the students -- from well-known universities and colleges, including Temple, Boston University and Clark -- busy.

Restaurants, pubs, and cycle liveries have also set up special prices for college weeks which continues through to April.

It appeared the young visitors were taking full advantage of this.

Many of those The Royal Gazette spoke with seemed to have an unwanted souvenir -- road rash.

Some more cautious college students had opted for public transport.

A performing group, "The Brunswick Spirit'', from the University of New Brunswick in Canada were all travelling around by bus.

Group members said they found Bermudian people very friendly and helpful.

Their only complaint was that they could not stay longer.

Members of the Temple tennis team said they also loved Bermuda.

"This has been great, everything except the prices'' one who just wanted to be referred to as Jesse said. "It takes $40 to $50 dollars just to get half drunk in town!'' But two students from West Virginia University had no complaints.

"There's some hot guys here,'' one female visitor said. "Bermuda is mellow and relaxed. "This is a great change from school, all they need is a bar at the beach.'' Several college students seemed perturbed by the lack of alcohol on Tourism's non-booze cruises. But it did not stop them from having a good time on one earlier this week.

DJ Mr. Craig (Bubbles) Darrell, who kept the lively crowd going, said: "This is a wicked crowd, it was better this week than last, the crowd is really getting into it.'' "This is a great escape from the Island, and a great place to meet hot guys!'' one young woman shouted over the sound from the jamming music and her peers.

"We love life here!'' shouted several students from Dean College.

Two students from Baylor University in Texas also said they were glad they decided to come to Bermuda for the Spring Break.

"Everything is up to what we expected, Bermuda is bad a** cool!'' a student named Greta said. "The people are especially nice, they add to the wonderful atmosphere of Bermuda. Everything is too expensive, though, but the bars and clubs make up for it!''
