Nick Faulks claimed sole possession of the top spot following the opening four rounds of play in the Hennessy Quick-Play Tournament.

The four matches reaped three-and-a-half points for Faulks who had three wins and a draw. His score places him a half-point ahead of the trio containing Harry Cast, Dan Hideout and Phil Shack.

Enduring a tough time was top seed Richard Black, playing in his final local event before leaving the Island, as he fell victim to the time handicapping system based on rating difference as he lost on time to both Hideout and newcomer John Kelly. Black was allotted 10 minutes for each of his games, while his opponents enjoyed the luxury of a full 30 minutes each.

The final three rounds will take place tonight starting at 7.45 p.m., with anyone who missed last week's leg still allowed to join while receiving two bye points. Those interested are required to register at the Chamber of Commerce between 7.30 and 7.45 p.m.
