Bromby's ideal tune-up
by winning every race at the national championships held in the Great Sound over the weekend.
Bromby was a perfect five out of five, only one race was sailed on Sunday due to low winds, for a minimum three-and-three-quarter points.
Jordy Walker was a distant second on 14 points with Martin Siese third on 16 and Christian Luthi fourth on 17.
The dominance that Bromby showed in the IOD Class was mirrored in two others as Trevor Boyce and Glen Astwood won four of five races to handily win the J-24 and Tornado classes respectively.
Boyce's only hiccup was a second-place finish to John Musson, who finished third overall behind Michael Emery.
Alan Burland broke the sequence of Astwood wins in the Tornado Class, which was minus Olympic representatives Reid and Jay Kempe. Astwood had a third to go with his four firsts.
The most exciting class of the championships proved to be the Etchells where Scott Simons narrowly outpointed J.J. Outerbridge 121 to 153 .
Races were won by four different sailors with Simmons taking two and the other three shared by Outerbridge, the team of Correia/Tatem and David Kuhn.
