Delta's set to resume its LaGuardia service
DELTA Air Lines is bringing back its Bermuda to New York LaGuardia Airport service, according to an internal notice forwarded to the Mid-Ocean News.
An e-mail sent out by an L.F. Wade International Airport source reveals: "We have finalised discussions with Delta for them to bring back its LGA service beginning May 21."
Delta will operate a 160-seater 737 between Bermuda and LaGuardia.
The Premier is expected to formally announce this news at a Monday press conference, according to the leaked note.
This news follows yesterday's announcement that budget airline JetBlue will introduce a second flight on its route between Bermuda and New York in May.
Says the airport e-mail: "The addition of the Jetblue and Delta flights means that we've accounted for the loss of AA 686 and now have the same amount of capacity out of NY as we did in 2007 – when you'll recall, we had as many as seven daily flights."
