Jennifer propsers from her venture
burning up the track on America's west coast.
Fisher was also in fine form off the synthetic surface, winning the Ventura Festival 5-K, clocking 18 minutes, 14 seconds while running in what was described as a "mini-gale'' along a beach front.
The field consisted of 172 competitors and Fisher even outshone many of the male runners in finishing eighth overall.
Next up was the San Antonio Relays in Walnut, California, which witnessed an historic occurrence as Carl Lewis and three other members of the Santa Monica track team combined to set a 4x200 metres world record.
While Fisher did not come close to achieving a feat of that magnitude she acquitted herself well, placing sixth in her 800 metres heat with a time of 2:12.61. She also did well in the 400 metres hurdles, finishing in 1:08.97 while running the event for the first time.
An appearance at the Santa Barbara Invitational had the Bermudian finish second in the 800m to American Kym Carter, the number two ranked heptathlete in the country behind Jackie Joyner-Kersee, in 2:12 compared to 2:10 for the latter.
Fisher rounded off what was a successful venture in shaving over a second off her hurdles time, posting a 1:07.
Former Bank of Butterfield Mile winner Dave Campbell is set to run in tomorrow's Maple Leaf 10-K race director Joe Pagnam confirmed yesterday.
Canadian Campbell and compatriot Klassen Allan were here for last night's Heritage Meet and decided to stay on until Monday. They have instantly installed as favourites.
