Two people involved in bike accidents remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) last night - while a third was on a general ward - after a spate of smashes on the Island's roads.

It has been a bad week for Bermuda with three serious road accidents.

A 21-year-old woman is still critical but stable in ICU with severe head injuries, a broken right knee and a fractured lower right jaw after her bike was involved in a collision on Parsons Road, Pembroke, at about 2 a.m. on Friday.

A man on the other bike involved in the accident also received head and leg injuries and he was stable on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital last night.

And at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, Police attended a serious single-vehicle road accident on North Shore Road in Pembroke, close to Black Watch Pass.

Details about the accident remained unclear yesterday, but the 28-year-old male Pembroke rider sustained serious internal injuries and was critical but stable in ICU last night.
