Meyer chief hurt in crash

Meyer Shipping Agency?s Capt. John Moore is in the hospital?s intensive care unit after he suffered head injuries in a two-vehicle road smash on Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Moore, 64, who is the vice president of Meyer?s marine operations and comes from St. George?s, man was travelling west on Slip Road into Mullet Bay Road approaching Mullet Bay Park.

At the same time, a car was travelling east on Mullet Bay Road intending to turn into Mullet Bay Park on the right.

According to Police, the driver of the car made the turn without seeing the motorcycle, which was obstructed by a bus.

In the resulting collision the rider fell from his bike, striking his head in the road.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where a Nursing Supervisor reported him to be in stable condition last night.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this accident to contact Sgt. Troy Glasgow at the St. George?s Police Station on 297-1122.
