A stunned pedestrian called police after spotting a motorcyclist with a machete riding through Hamilton.

The weapon sighting ? at the busy crossroads linking Par-La-Ville Road and Church Street ? was reported to have happened at about 1.20 p.m. yesterday.

Officers are unsure whether the machete was being carried illegally, or if there was an innocent explanation for somebody holding it while riding on a bike in broad daylight.

The witness told Police that they saw two men on the bike ? and one had a machete in his hand.
