Baptiste plans special events, storewide sale to mark makeover anniversary

Home improvement store Baptiste Ltd is celebrating the first anniversary of its major makeover with a series of special events, a store-wide sale and giveaways.The events kick off next Thursday, November 8 with a special “Ladies Night” which will feature advice from professional interior designers, including By Design, tips on painting and decorating, using colour, lighting, window treatments and other vendors and special promotions.Bacardi will be on hand to mix up cosmos for the ladies.Friday is “Contractor Night” with tool demonstrations, vendor displays and giveaways and door prizes.Bacardi will again be present, this time presenting its Scotch brands.The events will culminate in a storewide sale next Saturday, November 10, featuring such specials as $149.50 digital safes, and $14.95 door/window security alarms, a Tundra fire suppressant for $22.50, $179 eight-foot fibreglass step ladders, and a DeWalt cordless circular saw for $194, $99 ceiling fan, and a “doorbuster” 32-gallon garbage can for $39.95.Ms Bearden said a new $829 aluminium glass “impact door” to help deter break-ins. The glass can be smashed, but it wont come apart — it’s laminated.Bathroom goods and fixtures will also be on special, including a “doorbuster” pedestal sink at $199, $549 granite vanity top, and $34.95 five-spray shower head.Baptiste owner Sacha Bearden said while sales of building supplies remain slow, the home goods and new lines were “selling well”.“We want a smany people as possible to see the new store,” she said.The events kick off each night at 6pm and last until 7.30pm.Last November Baptiste reopened after a major renovation and expansion, and launch of a number of new product lines including Valspar paint.The new look is thanks to Orgill Inc, a leading US-based provider of wholesale distribution, hard lines and retail services to the home improvement industry.
