Police investigate break-ins

At about 9 p.m. on Tuesday officers went to a house on St. Mary's Road, Warwick, when the 36-year-old resident said he came home to find his house had been broken into and a machete embedded in a couch cushion.

At about 9 p.m. on Tuesday officers went to a house on St. Mary's Road, Warwick, when the 36-year-old resident said he came home to find his house had been broken into and a machete embedded in a couch cushion.

Items were also strewn around after drawers had been emptied onto the floor.

A small amount of cash, jewellery and other personal items were stolen in the raid.

In the other incident a 23-year-old woman returned home from work to find thieves had ransacked her Pembroke apartment.

The woman left home at about 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday and returned home at about 6 p.m. the same day to find her apartment had been ransacked with drawers emptied onto the floors.

A few personal items were stolen in the break-in and Police investigations are continuing into both incidents.
