A 44-year-old St. George's woman allegedly assaulted and threatened a pair of students at the CedarBridge Academy on Friday afternoon.

A Police spokeswoman said the incident apparently stemmed from a conflict between the 17-year-old girls and the woman's daughter.

One of the school teachers intervened on Friday and a Police investigation is underway.

In another matter, a wayward golf ball shattered the window of a home on Printer's Alley, St. Georges over the weekend.

No-one was injured, but St. Georges Police are reportedly searching for golf players who prefer the un-disclosed make of golf ball.

And lastly, Police are investigating a report of a loose pitbull killing a pet cat on East Lane, St. Georges on Friday afternoon.

A spokesman said the accident occured early on Friday morning as the woman was crossing a pedestrian crossing on Middle Road, Southampton.

She sustained minor injuries.

Police arrested the 28-year-old, Warwick rider on other matters and the investigation is continuing.

ATM BANDIT CAUGHT ON SURVELLANCE CAMERAS BUC ATM bandit caught on surveillance cameras A thief who used a forgotten bank card to withdraw $850 from a automatic transfer machine was fined $350 on Friday.

Gary Davis, of Swan Bay Hill, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to the charge.

On January 30 last year Davis discovered a bank card in the ATM of the Collector's Hill Apothecary.

He then made a series of withdrawals of $500, $200, $100, and $50.

But Police were later able to track him down because his face was captured on a video surveillance camera.

Lawyer Edward Bailey said Davis had brought $850 to repay the card owner.

But Magistrate Edward King told Bean: "Do what you were taught to do when you find things... turn them into the Police or the Bank.'' "The only thing you have done now is given yourself a criminal record,'' he added.

Magistrate Archibald Warner sentenced Jevon Ashley Bean, of Stadium Heights, Devonshire, to serve two concurrent six-month prison terms for asssault with bodily harm and common assault.

But as he handed down the sentence, Bean's mother, Juliette Broadbelt, told him she did not want the 26-year-old to go to prison.

And she claimed she had simply wanted to teach her son a lesson by putting him through a trial.

Earlier in the case, Crown counsel Leighton Rochester told the court Bean first struck his mother on October 22 last year.

Bean reportedly became enraged after his mother complained about the amount of food he had taken out of her refrigerator.

He then punched her on the left check and knocked her to the floor.

Then on October 28 Bean again went to his mother's home and demanded to be allowed in the house.

A second argument ensued and he again punched her in the face.
