When officers woke him up they found he was smelling strongly of alcohol and when they asked him how much he had had to drink, the defendant replied: "Too much.'' And yesterday Senior Magistrate Will Francis fined Pearman, 29, of Green Bay Lane, Pembroke, $150.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant told the court that Police officers attended at the Bank of Bermuda in Hamilton's Bermudiana Road just after midnight on October 14 after receiving reports of a man sleeping on the steps near the auto-teller.

Sgt. Grant said: "He was flat on his stomach. Officers roused him and he had to be held up. His eyes were red and glazed and his breath smelled strongly of intoxicants.'' Pearman pleaded guilty to being drunk and incapable and told the court: "This has never happened before.

"I haven't had a drink since then and I don't think I'll have one for quite a while.'' Imposing the fine, Mr. Francis told Pearman: "I think the best thing I can do is try and reinforce that -- you are fined $150.'' POLICE REPORT TWO ACCIDENTS AC Police report two accidents Two single-vehicle road traffic accidents occurred early yesterday morning and both drivers will appear in court to answer charges of driving while impaired.

The first accident involved a car driven by a 39-year-old Smith's Parish man on South Road near its junction with Belmer Drive. The man lost control of the car which was damaged after it struck walls on both sides of the road but he was not hurt.

The other accident led to a 36-year-old Pembroke woman being treated for a dislocated shoulder after she fell off the motor cycle she was riding along Mount Hill.
