on buses, particularly leading up to Hallowe'en.

The meeting, to be held at CedarBridge Academy's cafeteria, will be open to parents of students throughout the Island.

It is the result of recent incidents of rock and egg throwing between students travelling to and from school on the bus.

Bus drivers, who are worried that the situation will become worse during the days leading up to Hallowe'en, have threatened to abandon services to schools and on the fright night unless action is taken.

Public Transportation Board director Herman Basden does not believe the situation will come to that.

And principals who spoke with The Royal Gazette agreed, although they stressed that they had read the riot act to their students.

Parents also plan to do this and more, according to CedarBridge Academy PTA president Patricia Basden.

Mrs. Basden yesterday told The Royal Gazette : "We will be meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria to inform parents of our initiatives and what they should look out for. For example, if they find oranges in the freezer, this is not a good sign.'' The PTA have invited Assistant Police Commissioner Alan Bissell and PTB officials in to address parents at the meeting.
