The shirt that Shaun Goater wore when he hammered home two goals in Manchester City's memorable 3-1 victory over rivals Manchester United last season fetched $3,800 at auction on Saturday night as the Bermudian striker brought to an end his inaugural Grassroots Festival with a gala evening at Sonesta Beach.

Altogether, almost $5,000 was raised in the auction for next year's festival with Kevin Michael outbidding a number of rivals to snare Goater's framed jersey.

Another of Bermuda's soccer pros, David Bascome, paid out $525 for the shirt worn by Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron while Bruce Barritt topped the bids with $555 for a jersey worn by United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
