Two motorcyclists injured following collision with van

One man remained in hospital yesterday being treated for injuries sustained in a smash between two motorcycles and a van on Friday afternoon.

The collision on South Road in Paget, left one motorcyclist, a 29-year-old Warwick man, with a broken right leg and lacerations to his body.

The other rider, a 23-year-old man from Warwick, suffered cuts to his arm and leg. The 41-year-old van driver, from Hamilton Parish, was uninjured.

Outlining the circumstances of the incident, a Police spokesman said: ?It appears that both motorcyclists were travelling west and the van was travelling in the opposite direction when one of the motorcyclists attempted to overtake, but in doing so made contact with the other motorcyclist and then lost control, colliding with the van.?

Both injured men were conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial hospital. The younger man was discharged the same day.

The man who suffered a broken leg was said by a spokeswoman yesterday to be in a stable condition on a general ward.
