Several hundred people turned out yesterday to pay their respects to the four victims of last year's Hurricane Fabian.

A procession of motorcycles ? many stunning ? drove from City Hall to Stone Crusher Corner, St. George's, where wreaths were placed on a stone bench engraved with the victims' names.

A one-minute silence took place in honour of victims, Manual Pacheco, P.c. Nicole O' Connor, P.c. Stephen Symons, and duty station officer, Gladys Saunders.

Rev. Lloyd Duncan and Rev. Donna-Mae Postlethwaite led prayers and a lone bagpiper played into the wind.

Many of the locals that gathered on the anniversary of the storm were wearing their Fabian Fury T-shirts, and some shed a few tears.

After the gathering at Stone Crusher Corner the procession of about 50 motorcycles rode into the town of St. George's and stopped at Police Headquarters, Devonshire.

The Bermuda Police Service sponsored the September 5 Remembrance Ride and was supported by the Bermuda Low Riders Club.
