Man is in hospital after road accident
Wednesday afternoon.
A Police spokesperson said the accident occurred around 4.30 p.m. when two motorcycles, travelling in opposite directions, collided 50 metres west of Somerset Pharmacy.
"One of the riders, a 50-year-old Paget man was hospitalised and remains in a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with a fractured lower leg,'' the spokesperson said. "The other rider, a 17-year-old Sandys youth, got away with slight cuts to his hands.'' Police also reported $125 stolen from a Jubilee Road, Devonshire home Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson, the money went missing from a drawer.
And a 23-year-old St. George's resident was arrested at 10 p.m. Wednesday on Texas Road for impaired driving.
The spokesperson said the man failed the alco-analyser test and will be appearing in court in due time.
