Government House celebrates Quincentennial with open house
As part of Bermuda?s Quincentennial celebrations, Governor Sir John Vereker and Lady Vereker are opening Government House and gardens to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. Admission is free and visitors will be able to see the formal rooms, the Royal Suite and other guest rooms as well as the artwork and the gardens. The Garden Club of Bermuda is providing hostesses, guides and decorations for the rooms on display. Refreshments will be served in the Rose Garden on completion of the tour of the house. Members of the public are advised that there will no car parking on the Government House grounds. Instead, car parking will be available at the First Church of God on North Shore Road, at Ducking Stool Park, and at St. John?s Church at the foot of Langton Hill.
