Nashid Shakir, of Cedar Avenue, Pembroke, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing a Nintendo game from Leisure Time on Queen Street on April 9.

Prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Shakir removed a game from its protective case in the store and left without paying for it.

Sgt. Taylor said Shakir later returned to the store, turned himself in, and handed in a different game from the $110.95 one he had stolen.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered Shakir to pay a $250 fine, of which $110.95 will go to the store as compensation.

WEST END TO DISCUSS ANNEX PLANS MIL West End to discuss Annex plans The public will tonight get the chance to discuss the winning bid to develop the crucial US Naval Annex site.

Renaissance Resorts International -- with the Bermuda Land Development Corporation -- will hold a public meeting to discuss its massive Southampton tourism and residential development.

The meeting will be held at Southampton Glebe School starting at 7 p.m. The development plans will be on show upstairs at the Dockyard Clocktower Mall from tomorrow until Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

COMPUTER STOLEN FROM TOURNAMENT CRM Computer stolen from tournament Police are searching for the culprit who snatched an official's computer at Bermuda's premier tennis event.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said someone stole a $5,000 computer from the XL Tennis Open tournament office at Coral Beach Hotel.

The tennis official told Police that the grey Toshiba Tecra Laptop computer was taken sometime between 2 and 6.30 p.m. on Sunday.

BIKE RIDER INJURED IN COLLISION AC Bike rider injured in collision Slippery road conditions were to blame for a Sunday evening two-vehicle accident.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said the accident took place on Middle Road, Southampton just west of Raynor's Drive around 10.15 p.m.

An 18-year-old from Warwick was negotiating a sharp left hand bend on a Yamaha cycle when he skidded and collided with a blue Volkswagen driven by a 28-year-old Southampton man.

The rider sustained a bruise to his left leg and his cycle was extensively damaged. The driver was uninjured, but his car received dents and damage to its outside running board.

YACHT AGROUND AFTER LSOING STEERING SLG Yacht aground after losing steering A 45-foot yacht was towed off the rocks between Two Rock Passage and the Fairylands shoreline after running aground on Sunday.

The 45-foot sloop Fellowship , a white Gulfstar, had to be towed by the Marine Police boat Heron 2 shortly after noon. The owner, a 47-year-old Pembroke man, and a passenger were on board the sailboat. They told Police that the boat had lost its steering.

After rigging a temporary rudder, the Fellowship was able to make its way back to the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club.

DAB REJECTS HOME IMPROVEMENTS PLN DAB rejects home improvements The Development Application Board recently declined two home improvement applications, claiming that not enough information was provided.

Robert Trew, of 20 Warwick Lane, Warwick had his bid to add a bedroom bay window, a new dining room and a pergola and terrace to his home turned down because he submitted insufficient information.

The board also rejected Sandys Parish resident Kirk Roberts' application to build a swimming pool, pump room and boundary and retaining wall at his West Side Road home for the same reason.

But Michael Bierman, of Commonland Point Road, Hamilton Parish, had his bid to install a swimming pool approved.
