in St. John's Road, Pembroke, on Saturday night.

The victim claims she was walking through St. John's Church cemetery at 11 p.m. when she was grabbed from behind by her assailant.

She attempted to push the attacker away but was punched in the face and threatened before being forced to the ground and raped.

The man fled while the woman went to a nearby friend's house where Police were called.

Police say the man is about five feet, eight inches tall, in his late twenties or in his thirties, with a light brown complexion, and closely cropped hair.

He was neatly dressed in blue jeans and a dark short sleeved shirt.

And in a separate incident at the weekend, a taxi driver and his passenger were beaten by a gang who blocked the cab on Reid Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.

About ten men on bikes got in the way as the cab was driving west near the Captain's Lounge at approximately 1.45 a.m.

When the pair got out they were attacked with helmets and fists.

The driver said he was struck in the forehead and shoulders, but both men were able to get back into the taxi before heading to the Police station.
