a traffic survey at various locations around the Island.

Announced Friday by Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown, the survey will count the number of cars, bikes, commercial vehicles, buses, and pedal cycles travelling through 18 key intersections.

The traffic will be counted during the morning and evening peak periods.

The data collected from the survey will form an important part in the development of the National Transportation Management Plan, which will provide recommendations for improving the Island's transportation system.

Dr. Brown said: "As we develop the NTMP, it is important that we capture as much data as possible about the current traffic patterns.'' He added: "The traffic data will tell us how many vehicles are at each location, as well as the current mode of travel.'' The survey will not disrupt the normal traffic flow.
