Education Expo planned
The Ministry of Education and Development is hosting the fourth annual Education Weekend on Friday and Saturday.
In honour of Bermuda?s Quincentennial, the theme for this year?s event is ?Excellence in Education Through the Years?, and the Ministry will tell the story of public education through Bermuda?s rich and diverse history.
The Expo, at the Bermuda College on November 19, also offers Ministry a platform to highlight present day opportunities and programmes and look at what advances will be made in the future.
The weekend?s celebrations kick off on Friday at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts with the ?One of Bermuda?s Best (OBB) Awards Ceremony.
This event will allow the Ministry of Education to highlight those persons within the Bermuda Public School system who have been nominated by their peers as being examples of Bermuda?s Best. Ten awards will be presented and the keynote address will be brought by Neal Peterson, an inspirational speaker and regular visitor to Bermuda.
Tickets to the event are available by calling 278-3300 or can be picked up at the Ministry Head Office at Dundonald Place in Dundonald Street, Hamilton.
Saturday?s activities take the form of an Educational Expo at the Bermuda College from noon to 6 p.m. and will include a performance by the middle school drum line as well as the St. George?s Preparatory School Choir.
