Canadian minister to deliver two sermons

Two sermons delivered at East End churches next week Sunday will be part of the interview process for a Canadian clergyman.

Rev. David Raths an Anglican minister in Canada, will deliver the sermon at St. David's Chapel of Ease at 9 a.m. and St. Peter's Church in St. George's at 11 a.m. next Sunday.

Rev. Raths is currently the Priest in Charge at St. Mark's Church in Cumberland, Ottawa. That church serves a wide area of mostly rural communities following the Ottawa River west to Trim Road in Orleans and east to Wendover.

Church spokeswoman Judy Perry said Rev. Raths was being interviewed for the vacancy at the East End churches. "We have been without a minister for some time," she said. "Rev. David Steele has been acting as our interim minister."

Rev. Steele from Trinidad joined St. Peter's three years ago and while he said he has not resigned he was tight lipped about his future plans.
