Cashing in on your EasyLink debit card
With about a week left to shop before Christmas, Bank of Bermuda customers may be glad to learn that tomorrow they will get back one percent of every dollar they spent with their bank EasyLink debit cards since last Christmas.
Collectively customers stand to see nearly $1.25 million drop into their accounts under the EasyLink debit card cashback initiative, that was set up in December, 1995.
In total, the bank has given back its customers nearly $6.9 million since the programme kicked off.
However, 2003 was the first year that the cashback programme topped $1 million in cash back to customers.
Last year, $1.12 million went to more than 11,000 cardholders.
This year, that total grew to $1.242 million.
The bank also, effective from October 1, announced a similar programme for personal credit card users. The first annual one percent payback will be paid to Bank of Bermuda card users in May 2005.
Danny Fox, head of the bank?s personal financial services division, said: ?During the season of goodwill we are extremely pleased to be able to thank our customers for choosing Bank of Bermuda and for shopping in Bermuda throughout the year,? adding that the bank?s programme was the only one of its kind on the Island.
