WOMEN ASSAULTED BY MEN THEY KNEW CRM Women assaulted by men they knew Two women were assaulted by male acquaintances in separate incidents, Police reported yesterday.

Both women received injuries from the attacks.

The first incident involved a 24-year-old Pembroke woman in an assault in Sandys Parish.

The second assault involved a 24-year-old Devonshire woman at a residence in that parish.

Police inquiries into the incidents were continuing.

PUT OUT TRASH ON SATURADAY GVT Put out the trash on Saturday The Works and Engineering Ministry yesterday announced that due to the Good Friday holiday it will collect Friday's garbage and recyclables on Saturday.

It also reminded the public that garbage and recyclables should be placed out for collection before 7.30 a.m. on Saturday.

The Tynes Bay Waste Treatment Facility will be open until 2 p.m. on Good Friday and Saturday for the convenience of commercial haulers.

The public drop-off at Tynes Bay will be open as usual -- from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. -- for residential garbage.

MAN WAS ROBBED ON COURT STREET CTS Man was robbed on Court Street Police are investigating a report of a robbery on Court Street.

A 26-year-old Warwick man told Police he was robbed by two men during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He said the men began arguing with him, then choked, punched, and kicked him to the ground.

He said they also stole personal property from him.

The man was able to escape when members of the public intervened.

A 32-year-old Pembroke man was later arrested in connection with the incident.

HANDBAG SNATCH ON FRONT STREET CRM Handbag snatch on Front Street Police are investigating a report of a handbag snatching involving a visitor on Front Street.

The 22-year-old female visitor told Police she was entering a Front Street restaurant late on Tuesday evening when a man approached her from behind and snatched her bag.

The man ran off and the victim chased him on foot. A taxi driver also joined in the chase.

Despite this and a Police search, the man managed to escape.

THIEVES MESS UP WARWICK CLUB CRM Thieves mess up Warwick club Thieves broke into a Warwick club and made off with cash after an "untidy search,'' Police said yesterday.

Also targeted by burglars were a Devonshire house and a Pembroke school, but nothing was taken.

Police spokesman Insp. Coghlin Gibbons said the incidents occurred between Monday and yesterday.

AMERICAN ADMITS HAVING CANNABIS CTS American admits having cannabis A US citizen yesterday pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possession of cannabis and drug equipment.

Dianne Connor, 30, was stopped by Customs officers at the Civil Air Terminal on April 7 and searched.

A bag of plant material and a pipe was found in her jacket pocket, prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said.

The plant material was later found to be 3.2 grams of cannabis and the pipe had a cannabis resin inside it.
