Laptops stolen on SundayTwo laptops were stolen in Paget on Sunday.The first, a Toshiba laptop, was taken from a Mission Crescent residence while the second, a metallic blue Sony Vaio laptop, was taken from a Southcourt Avenue residence.

Two laptops were stolen in Paget on Sunday.

The first, a Toshiba laptop, was taken from a Mission Crescent residence while the second, a metallic blue Sony Vaio laptop, was taken from a Southcourt Avenue residence.

An unknown quantity of jewellery was also stolen from the Southcourt residence. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Two homes on Scarrington Hill, Paget, were also broken into over the weekend though it appears nothing was taken.

Between Friday and Sunday afternoon an unknown culprit gained entry into both residences while the complainants were overseas; however, nothing was reported stolen at either location.

In total there were 12 reported burglaries over the weekend.

Inquiries into these incidents are underway.

Beware of stolen cheques

The Bermuda Police Service is advising Island businesses that there have been recent reports of individuals using stolen cheques to purchase merchandise from various stores. They are encouraging all businesses and their staff to be vigilant and to ask for photo identification before accepting a cheque as payment.
