What do Lynette Harvey, The Caisey family, Pastor Lloyd Duncan and Vincent Minors have in common?

Apart from being Bermudian, they will be honoured for their community work by the Progressive Labour Party on Saturday, February 19.

Premier Alex Scott will present the Drum Majors awards in a special ceremony at the BIU at 3 p.m.

The awards, inspired by the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., are given to members of the community the PLP feel best embody the ideals set by Dr. King.

?In these awards we recognise people who are not usually honoured but deserve to be,? PLP spokesperson Scott Simmons said yesterday.

The public are invited to the awards which will also feature entertainment.

Invited artists at the event include Ruth Thomas & Company, dramatist Carlos Symonds and the Ensemble Singers under the direction of Lloyd Matthew.
