Warwick home robbed

A thief broke into a Warwick home and stole several items of jewellery on Sunday.

A Police spokesman said the complainants thought the incident had happened between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The thief got away with a black ladies wallet, a gold ring, three silver rings, a credit card and five dollars in cash.

Inquires into this incident are underway.

Public arrest suspect car thief

Members of the public arrested a suspected car thief in Pembroke on Sunday night. A Police spokesman said the citizens arrest took place near Bernard's Park after the man appeared to be breaking into cars in the area.

When Police arrived, members of the public handed the suspect over to them. He was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was detained.

Thief caught in the act

An alleged thief was caught in the act after Paget residents spotted a man on a building site late at night.

A Police spokesman said when the officers attended the Bostock Hill site at almost midnight on Thursday, they saw the man loading his car with boxes of tiles.

The 40-year-old Paget man was questioned and arrested on suspicion of stealing.

Police respond to 23 accidents

Twenty three accidents occurred over the weekend, a Police spokesman said yesterday.

Ten of the accidents resulted in injuries, but no injuries were involved in the other thirteen.

Five people were also arrested under suspicion of driving while impaired, and two of the drunk drivers were involved in collisions.

The people arrested ranged in age from 21 to 56 years-old and three of them failed the alco-analyser test, one refused to take it and another passed. There were also six incidents of breaking and entering; two in Hamilton Parish, one in Devonshire, one in Pembroke and one in Sandy's.

All incidents are under investigation and Police are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed these incidents to contact them on 295-0011 or call the confidential CrimeStoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477.

Thief targets Flatts eatery

The Flatts Village Grill was targeted for more than just its cuisine when a thief stole $250 in cash over the weekend.

Police were called to the restaurant at 7.20 a.m. Saturday. There the complainant told them sometime between 11.40 p.m. on Friday and 6.45 a.m. Saturday the unknown culprit broke into the restaurant and stole the money.

Hamilton home robbed

A Hamilton parish resident had a nasty surprise when they returned home after being out Saturday morning to discover their home had been broken into, with the thief escaping with a load of expensive goods.

Police were called to the Wyndham Hill home at 12.50 p.m. Saturday afternoon, where the complainant told them the thief must have broken in sometime between 7.25 a.m. and 12.25 p.m. that day.

Missing from the home were a Cartier watch, a gold wedding band, US $200, a laptop computer and a gold-coloured Honda motorcycle. Active inquiries into this incident are underway.
