A 57-year-old Government clerk pleaded guilty to stealing $159, 493.37 while working in the Accountant General?s office in yesterday?s Supreme Court arraignment session.

Clayton Albert Busby, of Harvey Hill, Devonshire, stole the money between March 13, 2002 and June 26, 2003 from the Government Employee Health Insurance Scheme. He also pleaded guilty to forging Bank of Bermuda cheques.

He will return to court following the completion of a Bermuda Assessment Referral Centre report and social inquiry report. A sentencing date has yet to be fixed.
