Saltus Grammar School is planning three special memorials in addition to the wreath-laying at the tomb of Saltus founder Samuel Saltus as part of the school's annual Founder's Day activities on Friday.

Saltus' Headmaster, Mr. Nigel Kermode said: "The theme of this year's Founder's Day is 'commitment and contribution', it is fitting that we remember individuals who contributed to the Saltus Community."

The school will first pay tribute to former Deputy Headmaster Francis L. Stephenson who passed away last month in England.

A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Church to honour Mr. Stephenson's 37 years of service to the school. The traditional wreath-laying ceremony will commence at 10 a.m. in the churchyard.

At 1 p.m. the school will honour former long serving member of the Saltus Board of Trustees, and former head boy the late Dr. Donald Campbell. The tribute is designed to focus on Dr. Campbell's years of commitment to the school.

"He regularly attended anything we staged dramatically - because he loved music - but he is most remembered for his fervent interest in our sports programme," said Mr. Kermode. "His friends and family are invited to help us dedicate a wooden bench on the school field which will be our tribute to Dr. Campbell."

At 5.30 p.m. the school will pause in honour of Douglas Anfossi, a former graduate, by planting a tree on the school field.

The activities will conclude on Saturday at the annual Francis L. Stephenson Memorial Golf Tournament at Riddell's Bay Golf Club.
