Medal haul rises to 35
Bermuda picked up a further 13 medals - six gold, two silver and five bronze - on the fourth day of the Latin American and Caribbean Masters Swimming Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica yesterday.
The haul brings the total so far for the Island to an impressive 35.
Annette Budge and Chris Smith each won gold, both now four for four. Kris and Michael Cash, Duncan Newby and Karen Bruton each earned their second golds.
Trevor Nichols won two medals - a silver and bronze - while Caroline Mitchell recorded the same tally to give her three for the meeting.
Bronze also went to Bruton, Margaret Marshall and Mark Peeters.
The performances of the day included Newby bringing the crowd to its feet during the 200 backstroke and Michael Cash's 200 individual medal. Neither were seeded to win but both overtook the respective favourites on the last length.
Today sees the end of the individual pool competition with both Budge and Smith trying for a clean sweep of five golds and the high point trophy for their age groups.
