Car show postponed

The Motor Madness Car Show that was supposed to be held yesterday was postponed, but two of the organisers chose to hold a Customer Appreciation Day instead.

The Motor Madness Car show at Bull?s Head Car Park was postponed on Saturday because a few of the organisers did not feel they were ready to participate.

Brian Bennett, of Autobahn Accessories, and Stuart Old, the Island?s distributor of Gliptone Cleaning Products, didn?t want to leave any of their customers in the lurch after the event was postponed at the last minute.

Mr. Bennett said a lot of money and time is put into the show cars and some of the owners and designers weren?t ready and didn?t want to unveil them until they were complete.

The Customer Appreciation Day went off with out a hitch with a jumping castle, remote control cars, drinks and snacks. There was also one show car on display which got quite a reaction from the crowd, Mr. Bennett said.

The Long Riders also showed up to entertain the crowd and the Bermuda Triangle Choppers brought in customised low riders. Andrew Jackson, a graphic designer at Autobahn Accessories, said the event was a great way to give back to customers. ?Not everyone has thousands of dollars to put into a car but we still appreciate them.? Mr. Bennett also felt that the Glow Off held on Saturday night was a big success with a number of people turning up to show off their accessory lighting.

The official Motor Madness Car show will now take place on July 23 and 24.
