to committing a total of seven offences including two car thefts.

Joseph Moniz Lima, 35, pleaded guilty to stealing a car on August 13, not having insurance to drive that car and driving while disqualified.

Magistrates' Court heard that the car was stolen from Front Street and Lima was seen sitting in the car smoking a cigarette on Primary Lane in Sandys by Police on August 17.

Lima also pleaded guilty to stealing a car on June 10 from Burnaby Street, driving that vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, driving while disqualified and possessing drug equipment, namely a crack pipe.

He expressed remorse for what he had done and said he had a serious drinking problem. He added that he was getting help at Westgate for the problem and hoped to reach sobriety.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner sentenced him to twelve months in prison for stealing the car on August 13, six months for driving while disqualified and fined him $1,000 for not having insurance for that car.

For the June 10 incident he was given 12 months for stealing the car, three months for having drug equipment, six months for driving while disqualified and a $1,000 fine and 12 months disqualification for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

All of these sentences will run concurrently, once Lima has finished serving his present sentence which he received for similar offences.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner said: "We hear all the rage about drink driving. You have got to leave the Becks alone.'' Pankey, 45, was fined $600 and banned from all vehicles for 12 months. She also admitted speeding at 56 kilometres per hour and was fined $200.

Gregory John Falzone, 52, of Olive Bank Drive, was involved in a single vehicle accident on Middle Road in Warwick.

Police officers arrived at the scene and noticed his breath smelled of alcohol and he appeared unsteady on his feet.

They asked him if he had been drinking and he said: "Yes, I have had three or four.'' Falzone told Magistrates' Court that he was an alcoholic and had fought his disease for many years, including a course at a Virginian rehabilitation centre.
