Visitor injured

A visitor suffered a ruptured spleen and cuts after colliding with a roadside guard rail on her rental scooter.

The woman, 41, of Massachusetts, was yesterday in intensive care where her condition was described as "stable".

A Police spokesman said: "At 2.20 p.m. on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish.

"It appears that the rental cycle was travelling east on Harrington Sound Road when the rider lost control and collided with the roadside guardrail.

"Inquiries into this incident are underway."
