She is Miss Margaret Anne Swift, who graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counselling, specialising in sexuality and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

Miss Swift has previously worked overseas in a day care facility for abused children and in a family planning clinic. In Bermuda she has worked in juvenile homes and conducted volunteer work at Agape House.

She was trained as a speaker for Planned Parenthood's Speakers Bureau, and was also a teacher's assistant in three human sexuality courses.
