Thursday's column contained a short piece on one of Hester's male friends who was pulled over for speeding by a motorcycle officer and happened to spot that the rear of the officer's bike was covered in stickers.

That morning the Police Service's new National Traffic Safety Coordinator, Acting Chief Inspector Charles Mooney, inspected the Service's fleet of motorcycles, identified the offenders and had the stickers removed and the bikes brought up to Police standards.

APPLICATION FOR BOARDWALK PLN Application for boardwalk The St. George's Foundation have made application to extend the wooden boardwalk currently in front of Trimingham's on the Old Town's harbour.

The boardwalk or promenade will stretch from Ordnance Island in the east incorporate the current boardwalk at Somers Wharf, and end at Hunter's Wharf in the west. There is an extension overland to Penno's Drive. First planned in 1997, the nine foot ten inches wide boardwalk will require some new piers to be built.
